Course and Class authors have the ability to check out and check in Learning Objects for which they are authors. This Source Control feature applies to AICC, SCORM, Classes added using the SCORM Class Builder, and those added using the LearnCenter WYSIWYG Editor. You can check content in and out as often as you need to, but if you are not designated as the author for a Learning Object, a message displays alerting you that you cannot check the object in or out.
The User Permission Allow Force Check In (sub permission of Manage Learning Object Manager) enables Users to force the Checking In of a Learning Object previously Checked Out by another author. This permission is useful if an author has checked out a Learning Object, but has left for a vacation or an illness without checking the object back in. Users who have been granted this permission can Check In the object on behalf of the original author. See Learning Object Manager User Permissions for instructions on granting and denying user permissions. |
If you have checked LearnCenter objects out for editing, you must check them back in to make it accessible to other Admins. You also have the option of making them accessible to Users, if you previously unpublished the item. On the Management Control section of the main LearnCenter page:
When you check an object out, you prevent other LearnCenter Administrators from accessing it while you make changes. You have the option of making them inaccessible to Users (learners) as well. On the Management Control section of the main LearnCenter page:
